Republicans have stopped Amnesty since 1994
clinton, Bush , and Obama all wanted Amnesty. Democrats wanted amnesty cause they would get 40 million new democrat voters. so that only leaves Republicans in the House to stop amnesty and they have for 20 years since 1994 . and they did it with only a simple majority in the house. R’s also stopped Hillary care, gun control , socialism since 1994. but many of you brainwashed , uninformed still blame the Republicans for Amnesty and everything that Obama has done. what Amnesty ? they haven’t passed any Amnesty since they’ve had a majority in the House . so you all are smearing and lying

Newt Gingrich’s Reagan Conservative coalition helped stopped Hillary Care but another equally powerful force were the Nurse’s unions and the rest of the medical industry because as they rightly said in 1992 through 1994 that they would not stand back while the Clinton White House attempted to take over 1/7 of the US economy.
Back in the 1960s when HHH was pushing for Medicare, Bob Dole proposed ‘Eldercare’ which was basically Medicare Lite. That is an example of what is wrong with establishment republicans, they always follow the democrat initiatives with proposals that are just a little slower, a little more restrained.
Romney signed into Massachusetts law his ‘Romneycare’ which was the precursor to Obamacare. And he was the leader of the GOPe in 2012.
When democrats fail in enacting their policy initiatives, they always turn around and confront republicans with a question of “what is your plan” and weak republicans like Paul Ryan will be given the task of coming up with the republican plan which is always democrat lite.
The republicans in general have not stopped any of what you say. It is Conservatives that stop these progressive actions.
The Tea Party Conservatives in the House have stopped amnesty this year and I think there’s a good chance they will stop it next year. But those Tea Party Conservatives are not well-liked by the GOP leadership.
Stopping amnesty in Congress all boils down to Boehner because he has the power as Speaker to allow a vote to come to the floor. And we know all the dems will vote for amnesty and we know that about 18 liberal republicans will vote for amnesty (Ted Cruz calls these republicans “squishes”), All the dems and 18 republicans is all that is needed to pass amnesty this year but Boehner was told by a strong contingent of Conservatives to not hold a vote. That prompted Obama to threaten his ‘Executive Amnesty’.
You need to get educated. The GOP leadership are not true conservatives and they support amnesty. The Conservative rank and file of Congress are the ones stopping amnesty now.
