Sullivan’s wife is a native (i.e. an Eskimo), and his MIL is a very respected tribal elder who has been campaigning for him relentlessly. The native vote won’t be quite the factor that it was in the past in helping Dems over the hump.

Prediction: Sullivan wins outside the margin for a recount.

Throw in a few (D)himmis with sense enough left to value their political survival over propping up lameduckshit Ø, and bingo .. vetoes go poof !If the Pubs keep the pressure on and keep passing bills that most of the country will support I think it could happen. The Rats have to recognize obama is a sinking ship.

Begich is in denial And Sullivan is going to be on the Potomac.

Oops, was thinking 60 .. my Sometimers, again ?
Still, given a jumping off point of 55ish, issues whose buttons are hot enough, some determined constituent pressure, and a bit of luck, it's not out of the realm of the imaginable.

Yeah, it is. Nothing is going to happen that is vetoed. All overrides will fail. Probably can’t even get 2/3 of the House.

If ever a state needed Internet voting, it's Alaska.
Alaska should have internet voting and the results can be tabulated instantly.

It’s Alaska. Look at how “the other senator” got elected last time out? Nothing up there surprises me.

The dems sent their people to all the villages to make sure all the Indians & Eskimos voted for Begich early. How it works is this: Promises of all kinds of grant money coming into village if they get out the vote. Usually one person in the village makes sure everybody's ballot is fill out & witnessed; usually filled out in same handwriting too. Murkowski did this a few years back and won a write in against Miller who beat her fair and square in primary, no Repub judges would stop the corruption. My Indian friends said the word was out for the Indians to stick together and get Begich elected.
I got a couple of my Indian friends to vote repub and they voted with me on election day, gun control is a big thing to the Indians also.
When Begich first got elected, Uncle Teddy won on election day. He was thousands of votes ahead, yet Begich ended up winning when late votes were counted, by 3000 votes, so it can happen. Of course the late votes are the most corrupt too. The Repubs called my house on election day evening, they were counting rural votes so they think they still got it in the bag. I sure hope the repubs hang on.

Interesting how that works. I never knew that.
I appreciate what you shared. I'm now more informed for it, and I too hope that the GOP can win this seat and oust another demorat.
BTW, how's the jobs up there? I may be forced out of my job working for the gubermint due to sequestration and I'm looking for better work.
Thanks!

Most analysts including Harry Enten at the 538 say it’s probably insurmountable.

Remember, the Repubs were calling all the Repubs living in rural areas at 6-7 pm election night, counting votes. They believe Begich can't surpass their numbers even if Indians voted all dem. You would never believe what goes on up here, Palin is the only honest Repub I have ever known up here.
We've been here 20 years, living rural 14. Need a job which are hard to find in rural areas. Got to live in Anch or Fairbanks a couple years to adjust & learn the country. Not like crossing state line, it's a different country. Teachers, nurses, EMTs, heavy equipment operators, ect can find employment everywhere. Can't live off the land and 2/3 the people that come here, leave with their tail between their legs soon as the snow melts. We luv it, couldn't drive me out.

This isn’t a recount, many of those votes will be GOP.
