NBC Projects Mark Warner as Apparent Winner in Virginia Senate Race
NBC News projects that incumbent Sen. Mark Warner is the apparent winner in the Virginia Senate race.
Warner, the incumbent Democrat and former governor of Virginia, remains popular statewide, but he faced a challenge from Republican Ed Gillespie, a former Republican National Committee chairman and lobbyist.

BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Virginia is really stuck hard on stupid as Hell.
Hopefully, Alaska will go Republican tonight, and Louisiana will go Republican in two months. That would give the Republicans a final count of 54 to 46.
I really dislike the way in which Virginia counts their votes. Allen, Cuccinelli, Gillespie...the GOP candidate always takes this big, early lead, then it slowly dissipates until the Democrat takes their first lead with about 95% of the votes counted.
Recount?
Arlington and Alexandria.
I’d like to see the military ballot totals. VA has a lot of military stationed overseas.
Recount! Recount! Recount! Recount!
Gillespie can request a recount. The request must be granted if there’s less than a one percent difference between the vote totals for the top two candidates.
Since the diff is only 0.6%, Gillespie will probably ask for a recount. If he didn’t intend to do that, he would have conceded by now.
I do not think this is over. Maybe it will go the way of Brown in New Hampshire, but I’d like to see all the votes and a recount. Well, the latter is a lost cause since Virginia is using electronic voting...
I’d bet that there were nearly 100% votes for Warner from certain precincts in a few places in the state. Voter fraud is real, and just a few votes can make a difference.
.... And over 100% turnout.... just sayin'
A Libertarian made it possible for Terry “The Punk” McCauliff (sic - don’t care) to become Governor.
Now another Libertarian keeps the Rat Senator in power.
Vote Third Party, you Vote Democrat by Proxy every time.
When will people learn?
voting for the candidate that best represents your views and interests is the right of every American citizen.
If the GOP wants those votes, then they have to work for them.
Fairfax, Arlington and Alexandria represent a big chunk of Virginia Democratic voters. They also draw a significant amount of state tax revenue, and pay more taxes than most people in Virginia. Every year, I’d take a guess that 2,000 Maryland residents (of fairly decent wealth) pack up and move into Virginia. Between stability, lower crime rates, and lesser taxation than Maryland....Virginia is a magnet for families.
FOX still has it undecided with both close and 5% of the vote still uncounted.
Gee, thanks for ignoring the point of my Post which was Third Party Libertarian Candidates are Spoilers.
Bob Beckel said it, and I paraphrase: Arlington, VA always holds back votes until they know how many are needed to take the lead.
