After months on the campaign trail and millions of dollars spent on ads, the polls on this Election Day, Sen. Mitch McConnell has defeated challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes.

Grimes told me that she was pro-choice down the line on abortion, and that she would delay the Affordable Care Act’s requirement that small businesses provide medical coverage to their employees.

That is one senate seat I would have shed no tears over if the democrat had won; the other is Mississippi. My dream senate would be 98 republicans, with 2 democrats, one taking Cochran’s seat, the other taking McConnell’s.
