28-year old Kevin Merryman was killed on Midlothian Turnpike near Courthouse Road at 6:00 a.m. Saturday.

SF police locate driver involved in fatal hit-and-run collision

SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco police have located the driver and vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian in the Bayview District Saturday night. The collision was reported at Third and Cargo streets around 9:30 p.m., according to police. A pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and the involved vehicle left the area. Police said the victim was a male on a skateboard in his 20s or 30s. Police now believe it is possible the driver did not know he hit the pedestrian, and the cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Danbury woman charged in hit-and-run of blind pedestrian

DANBURY -- A 21-year-old city woman turned herself in after hitting a blind pedestrian and fleeing the scene late Friday night, police said. Stacie Quinones, of Irving Place, Danbury, turned herself into police at about 11:30 p.m. Friday and was charged with evading responsibility, failure to yield right of way to a blind pedestrian, operating a motor vehicle with registration or license suspended and criminal violation of a protective order. Hit-and-Run Leaves 1 Dead Near Falls Church (VA)

FALLS CHURCH, Va. — Fairfax County police are investigating a hit-and-run in the Falls Church area that left one man dead on Friday night. Police say they responded to a report of a crash on Wilson Boulevard around 9 p.m. When they arrived, police determined that a scooter operated by 36-year-old Eliseo Hernandez Diaz had been struck by a Volkswagen sedan that was found abandoned near the crash site. Police say Diaz was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say no charges have been filed and that the investigation is ongoing.

Hit-and-run suspect flees driving wrong way on expressway (CA)

Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run suspect who fled the scene driving the wrong way on the expressway in San Benito. The hit-and-run accident happened on the southbound lanes of U.S. Expressway 77/83 just south of the Freddy Fender Water Tower at 3:39 a.m. Sunday. San Benito police believe that a black SUV hit a silver Ford F-150. The impact of the crash sent both vehicles into the concrete barriers. No injuries were reported but the driver of the black SUV fled the scene driving the wrong way down the expressway....

Cops: Drunken driver kicks trooper in eye with high heel

A state trooper was seriously injured early Saturday when a woman suspected of drunken-driving became enraged and kicked him in the eye with the spike of a high-heel shoe, police said. State police said that about 2 a.m. Saturday they stopped a car on northbound Interstate 684 in Harrison that was driving on the rims of its wheels and had struck a guardrail several times. Troopers from the Somers barracks said they arrested the driver, Delmy Villanueva, 26, of Yonkers after she was found to intoxicated. Police charged Hugo Cruz-Gregorio with manslaughter, driving under the influence, and fleeing the scene of an accident. Officers on scene said he smelled like alcohol when they were questioned him. Now, candles and a picture of Osmin Bonilla, the man police say Cruz-Gregorio killed, mark the spot where he lost his life. According to the court affidavit, Cruz-Gregorio told officers he didn’t know how to drive but his friends said quote “we’ll teach you” and pressured him to make a beer run. Deal(NJ) police officer struck by drunk driver, authorities say

DEAL – A Long Branch man was arrested after he drunkenly crashed into a Deal police car with an officer inside early Sunday morning, police said. Deal police Patrolman Jon Losquadro was parked on Norwood Avenue around 1:20 a.m. when he was struck from behind at a high rate of speed, police said. The driver, later identified as Tony Dias Da Costa, then fled northbound toward Long Branch....

Kerney, Taltya and Long Branch police officers were able to locate the vehicle, which had front-end damage, on Park Terrace in Long Branch, police said. Da Costa, whose age was not released, was charged with driving while intoxicated, assault by auto while intoxicated, failure to maintain lane, refusal to submit to a chemical breath test, careless driving, reckless driving, expired license, leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury, failure to report an accident, failure to possess a driver’s license, failure to exhibit documents and being an uninsured motorist.
