A federal judge Friday refused a government request to close her courtroom for a hearing next week for a Bolingbrook teen charged with attempting to go abroad to join the extremist group Islamic State..
Prosecutors had asked U.S. Magistrate Judge Susan Cox to restrict access of the public and the news media during the Monday detention hearing for Mohammed Hamzah Khan because of "privacy concerns" involving two minors connected to Khan's case but not charged with any wrongdoing.
In her four-page ruling, Cox said prosecutors had not met their burden to show that closing the proceedings would outweigh the "value of openness" in the courts. I do not understand why we want to stop these idiots from going over there. It seems that they are some of the first to be killed, and their “comrades” don’t mind using them as canon fodder. Let them go and get killed. Just don’t let them come back if they manage to survive. Good riddance.
certainly easier to tell the good guys from the bad guys that way.
I knew the second Mr. "I will stand with the Muslims" got elected.
Terrorism is a tactic, terrorists are people and that’s who we’re supposed to be at war with.
