Major mistake. Got it back together, but geez, the designer had to be a sadist.
My wife's old Colt 1908 Hammerless was the only gun harder to put back together, but then I actually did take that one completely down to the smallest bits.
My brother will only bring his out and fire it if I agree to do the strip and clean for him. It goes on my list of favors to call in at a later date. Big favors.
