woman who gave birth to a baby boy in a Salvation Army store bathroom, then placed the child in a trash can, went on trial for murder in Cook County on Tuesday..
Jessica Cruz's public defender acknowledged the woman "may have been reckless in not calling for help" but asserted in his opening statements that the baby was stillborn.
"Jessica did not kill this baby, because this baby did not survive the birth," Assistant Public Defender Dan Naranjo said. Cruz is also charged with concealing a homicide.

I do not know how it ended. Bottom line to me was, let her go. Planned Parenthood could have chopped her baby into bits at 20 or so weeks.
You said “rest area”, not rest room. To me “rest area” is a place along a highway were you pull in for a bathroom break.

As bad and evil the act she did perform was, at least she didn’t take the “convenient way out” and hire a hit-man ie. abortionist to do her dirty work.
She at least took direct responsibility for snuffing the life of her child out, which puts her above the women who have 3rd term abortions knowingly it is killing a baby.
She still deserves the book be thrown at her.

I think it would be very difficult to determine if the baby was born alive. Her lawyers will run with that.
