The amazing thing is that a woman is allowed to put any name she desires on a legal document without fear of the law. She never has to provide any evidence that she is telling the truth nor does it matter in the eyes of the law.

I have a friend who is listed on his ex-wife’s daughter’s birth certificate even though he was in a same-sex relationship at the time. He didn’t want the girl to grow up thinking she was the by-product of a one night stand.

I’m fine with the presumption that a woman’s husband is the father of a child, and the presumption that the name on the birth certificate is the father of a child. It should be a rebuttable presumption, though: the father can challenge and provide evidence and proof that he is not the father. Easy enough.

so much truth, makes one faith in commitment/marriage, a farce. 😦
it seems, our parents "had it right" in the era of Jerry Springer.
marriage; then the kids, not before..to hell w/nature.
