You owe an apology to Cheech and Chong for comparing them to those lowlifes.
Cheech and Chong were actually funny. Even if they had too many bong hits.
Written 4 decades too late. Trust me, white people have been raked over the coals and forced to pay for food, housing, and healthcare or minorities since that time. We’ve also been forced to enure endless whining, affirmative action and having to give up our seats to the less qualified , and now PC where we can no longer tell the truth without ending up in court or ridiculed or terrorized online or in the streets. White privilege? Barack Obama, Valerie Jarrett, and Eric Holder have Black Privilege which is worth significantly more these days...
I think the majority of white people have become indifferent to whining black people. I certainly have.
From a CNN source comparing the two says:
[Rioter] tends to conjure memories of the Rodney King acquittal or 1967 Detroit, but those are anomalies, Wolcott said. Throughout history, white mobs have perpetrated the majority of racially motivated riots against the black community over integration in public and private life -- from the 1863 draft riots to the civil rights battles of the 1960s.
The Watts riots, the D.C. riots, the dozens of riots all across the country were whites? Golly that means that in Cincinnati where I was those whites dragged out of cars in stalled commuter traffic in a black neighborhood were beaten near to death by whites. It was all staged by white racists to make the black neighborhood look bad. Gee.
It would be preferable even if the dentist forgets the novocaine.
So, when do we get to have White History Month? Oh, yeah, I forgot, that’s racist.
The white privilege routine works quite well on some college students. I know a kid who picked it up in college and still buys into it totally. It’s clear she doesn’t represent all college students or college grads in their twenties, but I do wonder what percentage of her generation shares those attitudes.
I think in her case it’s an expression of her vague frustrations that life hasn’t turned out the way she wanted it to — she knows she can’t rail about her own life because people would laugh at her (she’s one of the most sheltered and indulged critters I’ve ever known), but she can rail about how evil the world is “on the behalf of” black people.
I’ve seen clips of this which are very funny.... it’s aimed mostly at the white liberal intelligensia who desperately try to fit in, usually in the most awkward manner
Apparently it hurts to hear it too, because that simple sentence tends to infuriate the "Gibsmedat" crowd.
As a U.S. citizen I owe black Americans the same thing I owe any other American.... the respect to be treated the same as any other American. It infuriates me to be blamed for the problems of someone I had nothing to do with.
