Netanyahu goes toe-to-toe with US, EU over criticism ... Share on Facebook Twitter Google Plus
Report in The Atlantic quotes two officials who question the PM's ability to act on either the peace process or the Iranian nuclear issue.
The administration of US President Barack Obama has expressed its displeasure over Israel's recent announcement that it would be building more housing units in east Jerusalem, but now reported name-calling directed at Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu can be added to the tensions between the two allies.
Jeffrey Goldberg, diplomatic correspondent for The Atlantic, reported Tuesday that he recently spoke to a senior Obama administration official about, "the foreign leader who seems to frustrate the White House and the State Department the most." The unnamed official reportedly told Goldberg: The thing about Bibi is, hes a chickenshit.
The good thing about Netanyahu is that hes scared to launch wars, the official said.
The bad thing about him is that he wont do anything to reach an accommodation with the Palestinians or with the Sunni Arab states. The only thing hes interested in is protecting himself from political defeat. Hes not [Yitzhak] Rabin, hes not [Ariel] Sharon, hes certainly no [Menachem] Begin. Hes got no guts.
Goldberg quoted another official who reportedly agreed with the first official's assessment but added that Netanyahu was also a "coward" on the Iranian nuclear threat issue.
The second official reportedly told Goldberg that the "Obama administration no longer believes that Netanyahu would launch a preemptive strike on Irans nuclear facilities."
Its too late for him to do anything. Two, three years ago, this was a possibility. But ultimately he couldnt bring himself to pull the trigger. Now its too late.
The feeling now is that Bibis bluffing, the second official reportedly added.
This is the Iran State Dept.
Oh wait.........
And yet he is viewed as a monster on the world stage anyway. He had the support of his population to deal much harsher with Hamas and he took nearly every ceasefire opportunity presented to him. In fact, his handling of that conflict infuriated many in his coalition who believe his policy of "quiet for quiet" simply guarantees another conflict in Gaza a couple years down the road.
Here is an article that discusses the objections of many on the right to what they perceive as Bibi's lack of aggressiveness in dealing with Hamas:
Israelis Angry With Netanyahu Over Gaza Ceasefires

There are plenty of others if you care to look.
Again, my point was simply that Bibi is regarded as this tough guy military hawk in the US and West in general - while in Israel many, particularly on the right, view him as overly cautious in dealing with Hamas, Iran, etc.
My post was not about whether his decisions were wise or not, simply that the perception here is not what it is in Israel.
Obama is the most detestable person I know of. He is a bastard. He has no empathy. He is narcissistic. He is a liar. He is a coward. He is sneaky and dishonest. He has no loyalty to friends or allies, but caves to enemies and those who would destroy our country and the Western culture and way of life. He is also an unappreciative pig who lives lavishly off the public with his bloated sow and private school children, sucking up vacations, luxuries. He and his butt boy Holder have abolished the rule of law and rubbed it in our faces. He does not give two hoots in Hell for Black people (supposedly “his people”)
Did I miss anything?
BO is the chickensh$& that is too scared to reveal any of his background mostly college transcripts.
Remember what Marty McFly did in the movie “Back to the Future” when someone called him “chicken”?
Well, Bibi is Marty McFly on steroids, and when he goes into action, lots of Islamic fanatics die.
If there are any chickshits in the world, they are employees of the Obama regime, esp. in the JCS, State Department (besides being the most anti-Semitic organization in our government), and the White House staff.
Is this a joke? Netanyahu didn’t just serve in the IDF. He was a member of Sayeret Matkal, Israel’s equivalent of British SAS or the US Delta Force. Netanyahu is publically known to have taken part in two operations, Operation Inferno and the rescue of Sabena Flight 571, where he was shot. The following year, Netanyahu returned to Israel to fight in the Yom Kippur War.
I acknowledge I’m one of the very few here who thought the Gaza withdrawal, and a subsequent withdrawal from the areas of Judea and Samaria Israel doesn’t want to keep would have been a good idea. “Finishing off” Hamas, truly destroying them, would mean governing Gaza. Or withdrawal leaving a successor government to fate. Public opinion aside, not sure Israel want’s to govern Gaza, particularly given the more robust Iranian backed threat in the north. Not to mention Iran. All this confronting a nation which, including the Arab population, would be the 5th metropolitan area in the US. What would Atlanta do facing these threats. I doubt Netanyahu doesn’t care much about being a hawk, that’s the US media speaking, or this childish nonsense from the people governing the worlds sole remaining superpower. I think he has his country’s best interests at heart, in a difficult situation. Tough to second guess some of these decisions. Reoccupy Gaza? Invade Lebanon? Go to war with Iran to delay their program a few years?
Your pic combo is the best. Bibi ready to risk his life for his country. Countryless Obama shrinks like a kindergartener girl from a exhibition fight that doesn’t have the slightest chance of hurting him.
The comparison leaps immediately to mind. Sad.
It sounds like something from the onion, doesn’t it. I’m of the opinion that there are few actual “leaks”. I can’t think of any high ranking officials in the administration with the military standing to make comments like this. Nor can I imagine what benefit there is to the US. The administration makes us look so foolish.
He is the President, I wish I could disagree with something you said, but I can’t.

The passengers of Sabena Flight 571 don’t consider Bibi a coward. He was shot freeing that hijaaked jetliner in 1972.
illegal alien?
Sadly, I’m not sure they’re not right. He won’t pull the trigger and Iran will get the nuke.
Thanks for the reminder.
I will stand with the Israelis should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.
Privates in the Israeli army have chunks of guys like the senior Obamapunk official in their stool.
Brack Who'sASunni? Obola...
My newest favorite paraphrase from Fury (2014):
Bibi to Obama & his administration catamites: "If you want to talk like a Sunni punk, go join a Sunni tank. This is a Western Civilization tank. We speak Western Civilization here."
