Great post and the source of great frustration for me. Why are real Americans tolerating so much?
Comfort is the enemy of courage. People are satisfied with less and the less they are satisfied with depends a lot less on freedom than it once did. My son has become more acquainted with people from the coasts while in the military. He is shocked by the number of people he encounters from across the country that do not think it is right for people to own land just to have it or to own a bulldozer just because or to have a place for a 1000 yard range because they enjoy it. There are increasing numbers of people who are more metrosexual or something like that. We have become an urban society and that, by nature, entails fewer needs for freedom? I don’t know the explanation. Maybe it is that too many have never experienced being without or understand the value of having a right that you do not always need to use but you have it at hand anyway.
