BALTIMORE A patient who was being isolated at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore for Ebola testing Monday evening does not have the deadly virus, officials announced Tuesday.

This morning the news is this mystery person transported to UofM does not have Ebola.
Similar to the FIRST test of the child in NYC which was negative.
However, I remember there can be false negatives, especially early on. How dare they post "does not have" when we cannot be sure right away? For these people, I seriously hope they are not just going to let them go without another test at a later date.
Maryland Ping!
We need to worry about more than Ebola anyway.
Tropical areas of the planet are the home of all kinds of nasty diseases that are being unleahed on the world.
We should still be concerned about that “mystery virus” supposedly Enterovirus D68. I fear that is all over the country, and may be coming from the illegals, in which case there could be many more cases and that many more deaths (child, mostly) from it.
Again?
I thought this thing was gonna kill us all...
We had a death from D-68 here in Michigan a couple weeks back. We’ve also seen outbreaks of Chikengunya which is also native to south and central America.
That is killing kids, is it getting any coverage on TV?
Not since Ebola Duncan.
Except we did get the news about the poor little NJ child who died from it out of the blue.
GOOD NEWS!
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Bring out your dead! The Dark Man cometh! Bring out your dead! The Dark Man cometh! Bring out your......

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
It would be more accurate to say “Does not have detectable virus at this time”. But that would scare people, which they see as worse than the disease itself.
A link to this thread has been posted on the Ebola Surveillance Thread
Thanks for the ping!
