I no longer vote “Republican”.

I will vote for any candidate that is 80% conservative. Unfortunately, so very many RINOpublicans fail that test and are not worthy of a vote.

I do not see the Republicans doing anything on 1 or 2, certainly not 3, or 4, 6, or 7. So reason 5 is the one that might be a valid reason.

1. National Defense – This primary responsibility of the federal government has been effectively mismanaged for a good six years now.

And why don't you tell me about how the Republican Party has fought for and made progress on securing the southern border stopping the invasion?
Oh, right. Because that didn't happen… at all.

2. Health care –Now that the Democrats have invited government bureaucrats into every one of our body cavities, it is time for the citizens to respond as if they still have some measure of self-esteem.

The Republicans that still funded the monster even though they control the House? The Republicans that created the TSA screening at airports?
Yeah, I really see them being sympathetic to government agents sticking their hands where they aren't supposed to be. [/sarc]

3. National debt of $17,000,000,000,000

Which the Republican Party helped to create — remember that they voted to effectively remove the spending limit altogether.

4. Energy – Controlling Washington’s ridiculous spending spree is only one half of the solution necessary to recover from America’s enormous debt.

The Republican Party has done NOTHING to oppose ridiculous government spending; they even funded [and defended] the highly unpopular NSA and its domestic espionage program.

5. Supreme Court Justice Nominees – We are extremely fortunate to have made it this far with only two Supreme Court Justices having been appointed by the radical President Obama.

Roberts wasn't appointed by Obama, yet he was the one who made the deciding vote for finding ObamaCare legit.
There's no guarantee that a Republican nominated judge would be any better than Obama's appointments.

6. Illegal Immigration

Then why is the party pretty much rollling over on the issue? It's not like they don't have legal justification to act (Art 4, Sec 4, US Constitution), and most State constitutions explicitly place the militia under the command of the Governor and charge/authorize him with defending the State from invasion.
Note that absolutely zero of the Republican governors have availed themselves of this.

7. Epic Lame Duck Syndrome – Elected officials who have no fear of voter reprisal in the final phase of their term will sometimes take actions that would otherwise ruin their chances of re-election.

So, essentially the other guy's worse! He'll shit all over everything as he's leaving!

I reject 5 as a valid reason because it essentially is saying that any Republican nominee will be better, but remember that it was Roberts who threw the deciding vote for finding ObamaCare legit.

A Republican candidate holding conservative positions in those areas will get my vote. A Republican candidate who does not hold the correct policies will not.

Perhaps, when compared with some mythical band of politicians who do not even exist, much less have any political power. But, compared with the Democrat gang of thieves that we have now, we will improve our position on each of these points. One of the purposes of elections is for us to tell the politicians what we think. If we soundly reject the Democrat agenda, Republicans will suddenly discover that those weren't their ideas at all, they were with us all along, and that they were just doing what they thought their dog wanted them to do.

Unfortunately, I doubt that we will do this as many comments on this thread illustrate. By insisting that we can only score with the long ball thrown by some magical quarterback to an equally magical receiver, we are ignoring a tried and true ground game of ball control and short plays down the field. That magical guy got traded to Denver and his receiver got arrested.
