Former NBA great Charles Barkley called out “unintelligent” black people for criticizing successful black people as “acting white” or not acting black enough.
“It’s a dirty dark secret in the black community,” Barkley said, adding later that “we are brainwashed to think if you’re not a thug or an idiot you’re not black enough.”
“There are a lot of black people who are unintelligent, who don’t have success” who believe “it’s best to knock a successful black person down ’cause they’re intelligent, they speak well, they do well in school, and they’re successful,” Barkley added.
Barkley also said that black people will struggle not because of whites but because of all the “crap in your life from other black people.”
It's so much easier to blame whitey for everything (especially with white liberals enabling and encouraging it) than to take a hard look at black culture and try and fix the real problems.
George Washington Carver and Booker T Washington were similar voices back in the 1890s and they didn’t have a lasting impact either. Not much of a receptive audience.
Though he is spot on here, (Zor Neale Hurston would have called these people crabs in a barrel)I would not have chosen Barkley as an intellectual giant, he is my hero for this:
They all are, but that sucks out the race-baiting aspect.
The ones that are able to break out of the ghetto mindset have certain social and family advantages usually. I don’t think it is a question of intelligence alone, but still incredibly refreshing to hear more and more successful blacks jumping on the bandwagon.

Black people acting “black” make laughingstocks of themselves which is plain to see to anyone with even a modicum of sense.

Ya know...I used to grit my teeth at Barkley. Usually because he was slamming the Mavs (but who doesn’t?)
I have had to rethink my opinion of him in the last couple of years. And I surely will rethink now!

It’s the mentality created by the slave party, the Democrat party, to keep blacks in their place and use them like jumping poodles every election cycle. Come on boy, get your free treats, vote for the communist.
The adulation shown to thugs and outright antisocial criminals within the black community has never been a secret. It is a way of shoving it in “Whitey’s” eye, and expressing rebellion and skepticism about motives of white people, or even any non-black people, everywhere.
Granted, not all, not even a very large proportion, of persons of African origin have this opinion. But then, in an analogous situation, just because there are a “few” Islamic jihadist militants among the total population of Muslims throughout the world, are all Muslims everywhere “evil”? No thinking person, or even a person of modest acquaintance with anything to do with Islam, would say or even believe that.
But those who would believe in the widespread prevalence of racial or religious hatred are quick to jump on this correlation, and leap to the erroneous conclusion that results in a totally wrong stereotype. There are the vast number of any group who do NOT fit the stereotypes assigned to them, yet they never get a hearing in the arena of public discourse.
Critical thinking is an art that is too little valued or even taught in all corners of society today. Broad lawns or narrow alleys, fixed ideologies proliferate everywhere. Education was supposed to alleviate this moral darkness, but the indoctrination which has substituted for enlightenment has effectively nullified this advantage which should have been extended to all.
Barkley used to be good friends with Rush. Until the PC police got to him.
Sounds like the old Barkley is back.
American Indians are the same way. They refer to other successful Indians as “APPLES” because they are RED on the outside and WHITE on the inside.
Hence the reason the FEC wants to regulate YouTube....

I met a black man like that. When in High School he realized he would have to do better to break out of where he lived.
He finished High school.
Joined the Navy, worked on a nuke sub.
And is now a consultant on power plant start ups all over the world.
His black hide makes way more money than I did! But then he EARNED it!
