I could not find in the source article any indication that the person suspected of having Ebola having been to West Africa recently.
Does anyone else see it?
the article has almost no information
Nothing that I could see. If the patient had exposure because of travel to Africa or was exposed to someone ELSE, they’re keeping their mouths closed about it.
it is not just from West Africa any more it is on Frontier, the new york subway, you name it, it is out there.
And we are supposed to be surprized by the 'openness' of this adminsitration ?
If it doesnt fit into _resident Ebola's AGENDA, we'll never learn the truth !!
From your link. Sounds like it may be from a hosp employee there:
FYI guys. This is a confirmed case and they are shutting down Meth South. Getting more as we speak....

What happens if you get to the "Mid-South" and keep going? You come to the "Extreme-South"?
apparently meth south er not closed down..
With a stop at South-South on the way.
MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Doctors at Methodist University Hospital have successfully isolated a patient that they are currently testing for the Ebola virus. The patient is in stable condition.
According to an updated statement from Methodist, doctors will not be able to confirm whether the patient has Ebola until later Sunday night. However, they have established a primary alternate diagnosis, meaning the patient could be sick with another illness that causes similar symptoms.
The statement indicated that “the team is still strictly following Ebola protocols to protect all caregivers and others.”
An official from the Shelby County Health Department confirmed that they are working closely with Methodist University Hospital, and that the Tennessee Health Department in Nashville, and the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta. The official stressed that their priority now is to take an abundance of caution in dealing with the patient, who met enough of the criteria for Ebola to warrant an investigation.
Meth South ER has been closed for some time.
Steve Shulhar is the Shelby County public affairs officer. Apparently he only gets notified if the diagnosis is confirmed.
From a local source: Patient had been in Africa 11 days ago, but source did not know what part of the continent.
one post says 1 hour 14 minute wait time at meth south er -info from rn-
Patient no longer at meth south, transferred to Meth Univ
transferring a patient..doesnt that mean it is likely ebola?
There is a quick test that can be done in the field, but it has something like a 40% false positive associated with it.
The good test takes 8 to 12 hours and only the CDC is doing it at this time.
My guess is the field test came back hot and they sent a sample to Atlanta
that makes sense..so now they wait.
But curious that they were going to have a press conference and then cancelled it.
Since that Dr came back with no symptoms and now has it there is just no way to prevent it getting into the States without blocking people
