That is the way it has been in America even before we became a country.
Unless, you live in a police state with state cops everywhere, self defense for our families and our selves and for our ancestors depended on them and us.
Exactly right. Unless you are a cop, they are almost always going to be minutes away. I don’t want to live in a police state where they are typically everywhere. I’d far rather accept and prepare for being responsible for my own safety.

Some folks seem to think I was running down the response time of law enforcement. I was not doing that.
If there were more armed citizens there would be fewer problems.
Law enforcement can’t be everywhere.
