By saying that the grandfather killed the guy “for” attempting to rape his granddaughter, the headline erroneously suggest that the shooting was a punishment. It wasn’t — it was in the defense of the shooter’s granddaughter, WHILE the rapist was attempting to rape the granddaughter,and in order to make him stop. The former would be illegal, and no-one on this board would ever condone that. Using deadly force to stop a rape in progress is legal, and we’re all in favor of that.
Just a thought to bear in mind as we contemplate this happy news. I sure hope the grandfather pulls through. His granddaughter should be very proud of him and very grateful that he had the courage to confront these very bad young men.
