The girl's parents described Rivera as her boyfriend and said the two were in a sexual relationship.
So why hadn't the parents turned him in for molesting their 14yo daughter? Why hadn't the father been arrested for beating the crap out of this 24yo pervert?

If Rivera was directing the attempted murder of her family, he must be pretty dumb. Why not just run off together? Killing the family wouldn’t make the police any less anxious to catch them.
