War on marijuana unconstitutional, doctors testify in federal court Monday

The U.S. government claims marijuana is a dangerous, addictive drug with no medical benefits. But that claim will be up for debate Monday in California when a federal judge is scheduled to hear testimony from doctors that conclude the opposite.

Doctors Carl Hart, Associate Professor of Psychology at Columbia University, retired physician Phillip Denny, and Greg Carter, Medical Director of St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute in Spokane, Washington will testify Monday that marijuana — real name, “cannabis” — is not the demon drug the federal government makes it out to be. Accepted science does not justify the listing of cannabis as a dangerous “Schedule I” substance, many say.

“[I]t is my considered opinion that including marijuana in Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act is counter to all the scientific evidence in a society that uses and values empirical evidence,” Dr. Hart declared. “After two decades of intense scientific inquiry in this area, it has become apparent the current scheduling of cannabis has no footing in the realities of science and neurobiology.” [...]

Do you think that they are going to take everyone who is stopped for a traffic infraction into the station?

Do they currently subject everyone who is stopped for a traffic infraction to an alcohol breathalyzer? Do you think they should?

Ther was a teacher at my son’s high school who used smoke pot on his lunch break, now that will become much more common and there will be little to stop it.

Employers are and will remain free to do drug testing.

"pot has no medical use" is logically irrational because you can't prove a negative.

It's dogma, and nothing the doctors have to say will change it. Dogma is immune to reason.

when you actually do something meaningful, maybe i’ll consider answering your diversion

all the time and energy and lies pothedz expend to twist facts is a waste

why not just say ‘i know its bad for me but i need to escape from the sad reality of my life. so i am going to do it and pretend its ‘all i can do’’

why do you dysfunctional people need the approval of me or science? just live in your delusion and leave everyone else alone.

It's a diversion YOU introduced in post #43 - I've answered the question but you won't, and I'm sure everyone reading this thread knows why.

all the time and energy and lies pothedz expend to twist facts is a waste

I have twisted no facts - I have presented them and you hever neither addressed them, nor shown them "twisted," nor presented any facts yourself.

why not just say ‘i know its bad for me

Of course it is - like alcohol, tobacco, and triple-scoop ice cream sundaes.

why do you dysfunctional people need the approval of me

Opposite - I bask in the disapproval of those like you who post ignorance and ad hominems.

or science?

Rational people value facts - whether you do is your call.

leave everyone else alone.

Stop posting bilge and I'll stop proving it's bilge.

sloop did not make the claim to be some kind of ‘freedom fighter’ - YOU did

You're twisting the facts - what I said in reply to one of your many ad hominems was, “As a real conservative I have an interest in freedom.”

Have anything to say about the subject of this thread, or do you just want to talk about me?

lol - diverting yet again

all talk - holding others to the rules of argumentation as you violate them yourself

i have changed the subject of this thread to expose hypocrites that expend all their time and energy obsessing about pot and pretend posting on a conservative forum is all they can do. because of all the injustices, your ‘freedom’ to self medicate by getting high is the most important.

too bad pot does not give its users insight into their hypocrisy and self delusion.

i have changed the subject of this thread

That's commonly referred to as "hijacking", or "disrupting", and the people who do it "trolls".

You'd like to think it does, because that's your objective. You need to infuriate people so that the debate becomes an emotional issue rather than a consideration of the facts in evidence, and you need to believe you've done it successfully.

If people let you piss them off, you win. Once they realize that it doesn't work any more.

the post is nonsense

its only relevant to people who obsess over some idea that the constitutional purists have that statutory law is unconstitutional - those people troll the right with their self righteous indignation lecturing us about how only they embrace freedom and murder should be legal because its not in the constitution

this has some pretty bad language in it but i am sure you won't mind because cussin ain't in the constitution - and it nails you paultardz

Maybe you should start a thread on flame bait so that you can be on topic.
