Child poverty in America is at its highest point in 20 years, putting millions of children at increased risk of injuries, infant mortality, and premature death, according to a policy analysis published Monday in the journal JAMA Pediatrics. As the U.S. emerges from the worst recession since the Great Depression, 25% of children dont have enough food to eat and 7 million kids still dont have health insurance, the analysis says. Even worse: Five children die daily by firearms, and one dies every seven hours from abuse or neglect. It shouldnt be this hard for kids to grow and thrive

You wanted change America, you got it.
Considering that the recession’s official end- date, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research, was June of 2009, that’s a long time to be ‘emerging’.
Don’t forget that in Obama’s Utopia you are a child until your twenty-sixth birthday.
Sure we do!
Forty-seven percent of the population is on the government dole in some way.
Just think of it! Forty-Seven Precent of the once proud and independent American public are looters.
It's the parents either caught in addictions, bad decisions, or economic policies that can't produce jobs.
Obama is losing the “War On Poverty”?
How can that be?
He just handed out $900 billion to his pals, didn’t he?
remove “gang bangers killing each other” from the medical stats also- would make the health care issue look pretty good also.
But since many gangbangers are not insured- they get pimo care on public dollar for self inflicted stupidity.
Don’t worry, the golfer in chief is just playing through.
Meanwhile, the first tramp tells the masses “Let them eat peas!”
Hey, define it right and the whole country is in ‘poverty.’
People in Africa and Asia dream of being American ‘poor.’
In short, this article is bollocks.
Wait.. I’ll fix it, Obama-style..
“Hope and change!” “We’re the change we’ve been waiting for!” “Just words!” uh... “Cooling air! Receding oceans!”
There.. That should do it.
You left out the diabetes epidemic (from starving, you know?)...
Oh boy the secret enclave of children has been located once again, usually only located during Republican administrations, but probably has been alerted to news reports that Republicans MAY regain control of the Senate.
Yep, he is definitely proud isn’t he?
You know, when someone says over and over for nearly six straight years that we are “emerging” from something, but as far as objective senses are able to perceive it’s just getting darker, it’s time to tell them to STFU.
I wonder to what degree the “American children in poverty” they are:
* illegal immigrant children (DREAMERS)
* American born children of illegal immigrants (anchor babies)
Both groups will have high poverty rates and less access to the social safety net citizens have - and their numbers would dramatically inflate the number of poor kids by millions.
Oh - and are the unaccompanied minors let in this summer added to this year’s “poor kids” number to make it higher than last year’s number?
I bet they all have Iphones...
Dont forget that in Obamas Utopia you are a child until your twenty-sixth birthday. That's actually about the only thing in Obamacare I agree with (and it wasn't initially part of the bill). Since insurance is tied to jobs in this country (the REAL problem, IMHO), people who're just getting going on their careers were the ones who most needed protection. Most people without insurance were kids in their twenties whose jobs didn't offer insurance; just passing that change would have covered the majority of the people Obamacare was supposed to rescue.
