I did not learn my version of Chili in Texas...I learned it from parents trying to feed a family on a shoestring and giving them as much protien they could for the least amount of $$ Hence my chili is loaded with beans along with the celery and onions and garlic and tomatoes. I have not had any complaints about my chili, and both of the lads are strapping men...so.....yepper,...beans are the way to go (And it makes for entertainment later in the evening while watching TV ;-)
Celery? That’s another new one to me. Sounds like it’s a borderline stew. I’m sure it’s delicious though.
