1-—Ms Dooley, much as I like her, is a presenter who makes programmes for the ‘yoof’ channel BBC3, I like her programmes but she isn’t a serious broadcaster.

2-—Yes, Choudray and his ilk shout and scream a lot, but Americans need to understand that whilst he makes a lot of press, that’s all he does. This idea that he is some sort of serious danger to the UK that is just about to seriously start a civil war is nonsense. He’s a bloody nutter with a small following whose press far, far outstrips what ‘power’ he actually has. Americans take him more seriously than we do. Ever think why?.

3-—Hyde Park?. I haven’t been to London since 2006, so I wouldn’t know. And Speaker’s Corner, well, as long as they don’t break any laws (which is why the police are always there to make sure speakers aren’t breaking laws vis a vis racial hatred, anti-Semitism etc), they DO have the right to speak. That’s the point of that famous place.

BTW, you cant have a 1st Am in your country which protects the vile crap of the KKK, neo-Nazis, Farrakhan and a million extreme groups, then criticise the Limeys because they allow Muslims to spout crap at a London park.

I detest what they no doubt say there, but unless its actual racial hatred or incitement, I will defend their right to do so. The point of democracy and free speech is many times to defend that which you personally find appalling.

4—Ahmed threatened, but too many Stateside forget or aren’t aware that he never carried it out. And that he was expelled from the Labour Party, and the film WAS shown, albeit Wilders was disgracefully barred from the UK. A ban later thankfully overturned.

Ahmed is a disgusting little man. A bigot and embarrassment to the UK.

5—Yes, they do, which is why I get very angry at Freepers who suggest the native British are or have been anti-Semitic. Britain as a nation has en masse REJECTED it, from the 1930s to today, from Mosley to the BNP.

6—Nor do I. Its not the nation I was born into in 1970, and not the one I grew up in. Although I am not stupid or rosey-tinted to forget the problems we had then. BUT the UK despite its problems is far from the hellhole too many Americans think, as they take their views from the stories they read here.

We are the same: we get a view of America which is nothing but violence, gun violence, serial killers, racial strife, political corruption, PC ism, mostly the negative. We don’t get the positive of living in America. As you will get a skewed view of the UK. Which is why I always say for people here to at least visit and see how violent/dhimmi/problem-ed we actually are.

As a Brit, I can tell you that we have problems, some small some large, some very serious. BUT that its still a fine country to live in, work in, visit. Friendly, intelligent, beautiful, historical, complex.

Remember, news by definition, is negative (one murder in a city of a million gets press, the other 999,999 who weren’t dosent....)

I agree with all your points & thank you for your time in posting.

A lot of us older Yanks regard 1940 as the high water mark of British resolve. I’m sure a lot of older Britons do, too.

My favorite youtube vid right now is “the first dam” from the 1955 Dambusters film.

Does UKIP have a future, now?
