I once voted, and a woman who was running for a local judgeship was at the polling place, electioneering (as were a few other candidates). There was a sign that signified were the fifty foot limit was, which signified where campaigning must stop as per the local law. The woman approached me to ask me for my vote, but she was just inside the 50’ limit. I pointed out to her that she was across the line. She said, ‘Oh, that doesn’t matter’. She was running to be a judge, and clear and precise rules didn’t matter? The first lever I pulled was for her opponent.
