The first group of people exposed to Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person to die from Ebola in the United States, will no longer be considered at risk for the Ebola virus at 12 a.m. Monday.
After three weeks of isolation or self-monitoring, 47 people -- including Duncan's fiancee Louise Troh, her 13-year-old son and two nephews --- will be cleared and allowed to go on with their lives.

The nurses had inadequate protection for airborne droplets from the dying Duncan. The family had him around when he was shedding far fewer viruses and Youngor Jallah made sure they were careful. She disinfected with no protection days before the state sent their cleaning crew. They were also lucky. There are many other potential unknowable factors like how clean Duncan was. If he washed his hands a lot he would spread a lot less.

Yup, it's nice to know that at least you are aware of the WHO revision. Wonder when CDC will catch on?

THEY SHOULD ALL BE TESTED, PRIOR TO RELEASE
I can’t believe they were not infected

So, those who hung around him while he was sick and vomiting - and taking no precautions - didn’t come down with it, but heavily protected health care workers did?
Kinda odd, don’t you think?

Wow so none of them got ebola BUT 2 nurses that came in contact with Duncan did. WOW. Doesn't shock me one bit. The nurses were dealing with blood and bodily fluids as the virus worsened and weren't properly protected.
The family was around for the onset of symptoms and like another poster said, one of the family members had health care experience and knew how to deal with the virus.
