No questions from me, but I believe I can summarize the position of those who are saying we must vote for the Republican candidate no matter how liberal, socialist, or statist they may be:

I believe people should fight like hell to get the best (most conservative) candidate in office.
Once the electorate has spoken people need to bury the hatchet and vote for whoever won in the primaries.
In other words vote for the person who is still standing that is the most conservative and has the best chance of winning.
Or at least the candidate who is the least insane and has the best chance of winning.
And sometimes that means voting for those you would not normally vote for.
The reason for this is a combination of idealism and pragmatism.
I can be both idealistic and pragmatic and still function

And once the republicans took possession of the House of Representatives and had the power of funding under the Constitution did they zero out funding for Obama Care or did they fund it? The Chamber of Commerce likes Obama Care because it off loads health coverage from their membership mostly international corporations to the tax payer. Boehner & Cantor had no problem squashing any repeal efforts and funding it.
Do you think John Boehner is going to fight for smaller government? A border fence? Scale back HB-1 visas until Americans are back to work in the tech industry? Will he reign in the runaway EPA? How about the Labor Relations Board? Has he even had an effective strategy to oppose Obama? What victory for conservatives can you name that he’s engineered? Then tell me what McConnell’s done.
John McCain has made a career out of back stabbing conservatives,pushed amnesty for illegals,and sold out our MIA’s in Vietnam. What has the republican party done to punish him? Oh yeah,pushed him front and center to be the nominee for 2008! We also got the democrat in republican’s clothing from Massachusetts in 2012 as the “electable candidate”. Remember? He pushed Romney Care in his state so Obama Care as an issue was taken off the table for the 2012 election. You know the one issue that would be a winner against the democrats.
What do Rex Ryan and the republican leadership have in common? They both continually lose but they still get to call the plays even though their records suck!

There's a difference between being both idealistic and pragmatic
and thinking that pulling for those who have both spoken and acted against your positions will advance your positions. — That is, essentially, what the you have to vote Republican! the other side's worse!

Just look at their stance on amnesty — the GOP is practically drooling, chomping at the bit to pass it… how is voting for them going to advance my ideals that we ought not? (And the same can be said for almost any or the Republican planks; Debt? They've helped incur more. Accountability? I do not like Boehner and the times the repubbies caved. And having a Senate isn;t going to pass much either because they will not have a veto proof majority. BUT it is preferable to having Harry Reid just sweep the house passed bills into the trash.

Had I lived in Mississippi and voted I would have voted for Mc Daniel because he clearly had a chance at winning ....Now with things the way they are I would have a very very hard time voting for Cochran.
However I think if Republicans dont win the Senate we are doomed to more Obama BS and Cochran is now is the nominee.(i would love to see a court battle over that primary).

I’ll even go first. I don’t live in Mississippi either, but if I did, I’d leave that part of my ballot blank. Cochran showed he doesn’t want conservative votes, and since he appears to have made no attempt to earn them since then, blank would be the way to go since no good conservative should vote for a Democrat in my view.
