Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the U.S. is trying to reconsider its approach to Ebola patients after several reports suggest that the fatal virus could be airborne.
Many people in the population are extremely afraid with the fact that they can acquire the deadly disease, while more than 8,000 people have been already affected since its outbreak in Guinea in late 2013. The people are even more afraid today after the news reveal that two Dallas nurse have been infected with the virus after taking care of Thomas Duncan, the first confirmed case of the deadly infection inside the U.S. What is more alarming about the news is that the health care workers were actually wearing the protective equipment during contact with Duncan; however, they still tested positive from the virus.
Although CDC already cleared that the Ebola virus can be transmitted through direct contact with the infected person's body fluids such as sweat, blood and fecal material, there are now claims trying to say that the infection is actually airborne. The news about the infection of the Dallas nurses began to build up issues, such as the real route of transmission of the virus since the health care workers were actually wearing their protective equipment, yet they are still infected.....

What you are noting is the scientific definition of airborne, in that the virus can be exhaled and inhaled with no need for a droplet or particle to hitch a ride on.
I have had this discussion before, and while that is scientifically correct (as far as we know) that it is droplet or fomite conveyed, and not truly, scientifically, considered "airborne", the bottom line comes down to this:
The droplets are airborne, fine particulate fomites are airborne, or at least suspended in air for distances dependent on particle size, density, initial acceleration and vector, wind speed and air currents.
To the average person, if you can breathe it in, if it lands on you out of the air, it is airborne.
Saying otherwise causes the false impression that direct contact with the subject is necessary. Such lapses can get you killed.
Outside of scientific circles, that is how people will think, just as they took the "bodily fluids" thing (after decades of newspeak conditioning to keep from exposing homosexual practices which just might seem like unnatural acts) to mean 'sexual contact'.
The unfortunate part of that is that the conditioning and PC-ing of the language left people with the impression that this was a behaviourally acquired pathogen and if you just didn't do that (whatever that is) you would not catch it.

And where is Michael “Ebola Is a Lazy Spreader” Fumento these days? Really, the New York Post should give him a nice check and tell him to get lost, if he isn’t in hiding already.
>> THIS AIRBORNE STUFF IS TOTAL FREAKING NONSENSE
Well, given your emphasis, I guess you’re right.

What was not PC in the definition to you?
Fumento is here with a 3,000-word article in a science journal explaining in great deal why this mass hysteria is a mass hysteria. The epidemic has plateaued, the CDC and WHO estimates are in a shambles.

you didn’t read that it says Ebola IS Airborne?
The CDC and media say it’s not.
Ok TOL, you can’t tell me that I have again jumped the gun! This MUST be the real ZOT 9000 deal!
Thanks for the ping!
Yeah.
Brak Ubama has it all in his truly proven capable hands!
Why, just look at how he rescued ambassador Stevens and those journalists that Isis held!
And who needs travel restrictions, after all did not the great god-king Ubama show us that Ebola is nothing to worry about by kissing and hugging nurses that may or may not have worked with Ebola patients?
Besides, to stop Ebola from coming here, we have to bring it here!

Sheesh... Three thousand words of spin.
Ok, I lose again...dang
You can stop with the all caps.
Ebola Zaire is “mildly” airborne meaning light droplets from a sneeze will spread it.
Welcome to FR.
No, you didn’t lose.
He speaks about himself in third person, and links a spin article of three thousand words..
Yikes.
Yeah, I’ve been saying this for months now. So much for the resident FR “Doktors” claiming nothing to worry about and Ebola is hard to catch and sounding like a carbon copy of the dope CDC director. Did the CDC director ever make an appearance since the naming of an Ebola czar?
I have only seen pictures of the latest czar and he looks like a character from Animal House.
