If you dont quarantine the disease, it will burn itself out after it runs out of victims.

I think you meant "if you quarantine, it will run out victims". But that's an entirely different issue than quarantining before letting people in. I would rather quarantine them here so we can watch them. It would be better to ban them all from coming in the first place.

As for Ebola running out of victims, it doesn't work that way. It can't spread fast enough to use up the victims in any area. They tried it in the West Point slum and got only a steady smattering of victims as people took some basic precautions and stayed uninfected.

That's what's known as endemic disease. Just like malaria, yellow fever, and most so-called tropical diseases used to be everywhere including here in North America straight up to the Arctic circle. The disease never ever burns out, it stays around forever until it is eradicated. Ebola is pretty much that type of disease, a bit more deadly than those, but harder to catch.

The correct and simple way to eradicate Ebola is find all the victims and remove them and put them somewhere where they can't infect others. It helps to quarantine suspected cases but it is not as essential as going into every endemic area and removing the victims.

Instead, in Liberia and Sierra Leone we have victims at home infecting the village, and deadly customs like washing the dead and home burials. It mainly spreads through ignorance although it is not selective.

Agreed ! I stand corrected ! That is what I meant to say .

palmer:" It helps to quarantine suspected cases but it is not as essential as going into every endemic area and removing the victims".

Agreed again !
Triage according to the degree of illness:
A) suspected cases
B) cases with pre-test of illness, but not severe at this time, pending further testing.( These are the most responsive to treatment if diagnosed within 3-5 days of symptoms)
C) cases confirmed with Ebola test ( acknowledging that some tests give false negative results for Ebola) .
D) cases CONFIRMRED - respit and palitive care, isolated from general population

Leper Colony.

Ebola Colony.

Democrat Colony.

It’s a natural progression.
