Five Christian pastors will no longer have to turn their sermons over to attorneys for the city of Houston. Instead, they will be forced to turn over their speeches related to the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO).
I dont mean to point out the obvious herebut what do those attorneys think a sermon is? Its a speech.
According to an amended motion filed Friday in Harris County, Texas court, the citys attorneys will no longer demand sermons related to homosexuals, gender identity, or Mayor Annise ParkerHoustons first openly lesbian mayor.
The amended subpoenas do require the pastors to turn over all speeches or presentations related to HEROalong with 17 different categories of information.

has anyone countersued the mayor as to why she is targeting christian churches and not mosques?
If the gay agenda is to rewrite or ban the Bible, they’re setting themselves up for a losing fight.

Not the correct spelling of the Mayor’s name.
Asinine is the correct spelling. Some may even use double “s” and spell it ASSinine!

There is no such things as “Freedom of Speech”.
With Hate Crimes and PC regulations, speech hasn’t been free for a long time.

I hear you, FRiend.
I have lost customers for saying the most innocuous things, but I haven’t yet been arrested for “hate speech”.
It could be just around the corner though.

The left will rally around her, of course. Eventually the GOP will give up criticizing this.

This serves as a good illustration of Libs attitude toward Christianity. Libs believe that their sexual liberty to practice sodomy takes precedence over the First amendment rights of Christians to freely practice their religion. Chai Feldblum, a lesbian Georgetown law prof, whom Obama appointed to the EEOC, said that when religious rights conflict with gay rights, that gay rights should ALWAYS win. That is the attitude of Libs toward Christianity. More Christians better become aware of that. There is only one problem, we still have way too many Christians who vote for the dems. If we see a massive drop of Christians who support the dems, then maybe we see some change?

There are far too many people who believe government should be in the charity business. They also believe that supporting like minded politicians is virtuous and makes them charitable as well. They don’t buy the government theft argument because its all done for the right reason and they think that absolves them of any sin. Many of these people really think that makes them GOOD Christians when they are nothing of the sort.

Pastor’s speeches are also covered by free exercise of religion. Any Christian’s speech about any aspect of anything that is relevant to their faith is covered by free exercise
