The fledgling democracy is about to be declared Ebola-free, no new cases having popped up in over a month.

Nigeria's 19-case outbreak began with a visibly sick passenger who arrived from Liberia and passed out in the Lagos airport. Initially, they thought he had malaria. By the time they figured out he had Ebola, he had infected several of his caregivers. Extensive contact-tracing, involving 18,500 face-to-face interviews, yielded a pool of 900 people, who were monitored for 21 days. All 19 cases that eventually developed were traced back to the sick passenger.
