It has been my experience that bureaucrats of all types will not take it upon themselves to render a decision if there is the slightest risk they could be wrong. Imagine a nurse calling the CDC and saying, “Hi, I’m a nurse who has been exposed to Ebola. I’m about to get on an airplane and I have a fever. Should I go ahead and risk infecting a plane full of passengers?” I can’t imagine any government functionary I’ve ever met saying, “Sure. No risk.” Unless, they’ve been ordered to downplay the risk.
Ofcourse they have been ordered to do just that. Just as in the last 24 hours it is clear the talking points went out and they instruct to describe anyone even mentioning Ebola, now matter as reasonably , as hysterical or adding to the hysteria. You see any hysteria yet? I sure do not. I still see zombies with Starbucks lattes and smart phones attached to their limbs.
