Ted Cruz will be a better President than Ronald Reagan because he has the benefit of hindsight, because he is extraordinarily sharp and quick in perceiving threats to the Constitution and in devising responses and solutions.

I read that Ted Cruz’ father was instrumental in his primary and secondary education encouraging him to join debate societies where he was required to memorize the US Constitution and to study its rich and inspired history. Ted Cruz became a debate champion at Princeton and a stellar law student at Harvard.

Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz had this to say about Ted Cruz:

Not many people realize how smart, witty and quick Ronald Reagan was but Ted Cruz surpasses RR in these attributes.

Now being smart is not a guarantee that a person will be a great or even wise leader. Wise and great leadership also requires being quick and accurate in response. An example of Ted Cruz’ incredible response speed:

and there are so so many more examples.

Raphael Cruz is the real deal. Though I haven’t spoken with him personally I’ve been in the same room with him several times and know several people that speak to him pretty often that have spent considerable time with him and driving him around to speaking engagements. They all tell me he is who he appears to be on and off camera. He would talk about politics and the Constitution with Ted around the table all the time whenever they had meals. This instilled a strong sense of patriotism in him beginning at an early age.

Reg’d. Reagan’s wit, yes, I completely concur. I look at the schlubs putatively on our side, and I ask myself, “Does John Cornyn see himself as Reaganesque?” Dear God, I hope that his delusions come in under that size. Look at any of them with robust opinions of themselves: Boehner, McConnell, Barbour, Gingrich, Paul, etc..

I watch Reagan videos for fun. I’m not US born, and I’m under the age of the ‘Reaganites’, but I revere and miss the man. I will look for evidence of Cruz’s quick wit. Thank you for alerting me to it.
