I’ve been thinking about the possibility of Ebola being spread by mosquitoes. I know not all viruses can’t be transmitted through mosquitoes or we’d all have AIDS by now.

This scientist basically says “We don’t know” but they haven’t seen it and it doesn’t appear likely.

There’s no doubt that Ebola hunters have checked mosquitoes and other insects as vectors. If Ebola could be carried by mosquitoes it would have shown up in Africa by now. You’d see large numbers of infected who had no contact with previous victims and that hasn’t been the case.

People are getting Ebola from humans, apes, and fruit bats. If we are lucky there won’t be anything in North America that can act as a reservoir species.
