Sounds like a speech that the old English flying ace was giving to the Ladies Guild.
As he was describing one particular dog fight
“There was a Fokker above me and a Fokker below me”
The ladies gasped so the host interrupted to explain to them that a Fokker is a German aircraft company.
To that the old ace said:
“That is true but those Fokkers were Messerschmitts"
