How many persons has this nurse transmitted Ebola to - hundreds, thousands?
Truly alarming. Wonder how many places and how many people this victim touched in the past few days.
Yep.
CNN Breaking:
“Second Ebola patient at Dallas hospital is female nurse, official familiar with case tells CNN’s Elizabeth Cohen. “
http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/12/health/ebola/index.html
“The worker was involved in Duncan’s second visit to the hospital, when he was admitted for treatment, and was wearing protective gear as prescribed by the CDC — gown, gloves, mask and shield, Varga said.”
On the fringes of the gentrified 'M Streets' area - a mix of older bungalows, renovated houses, and McMansions. Nice enough residential area, but not my flavor. More likely a nurse than an orderly in that area.
No joke. Also this is a state lab confirmation of test. CDC in hiding. The patient came in on Friday with fever. CDC is slow walking the confirmation so state lab released info..just like last time.
Seriously... It's pure stupidity like your post that is why this disease will continue to spread.
Obamacare is a major factor in the decline of our once great nation but Obamacare did not tell duncan to run around the world infecting people. Duncan is to blame. All by his little lonesome he is to blame.
Aaaaaaaah..... Like Rush said, "Stupid people are just stupid. And you can't tell them they are stupid because they will argue with you."
Wow.... Case closed.
That is what I thought. Thanks. Near Greenville Avenue too. Sure hope this patient has been keeping a low profile since being exposed. Gads! The Dallas Health department dude hinted that there may be more. I bet other tests are being done on other people. They are being very coy.
Feel free to use my graphic. No idea who the kid is, but he perfectly conveys the concept!
Nothing to see here, move along it is only right wing talk radio causing hysteria, the President said they have it under control and we all believe him, he’s a man of truth and from academia / sar
No kidding?
Nonsense!!! FR's very own ex-spurts will be happy to tell you this simply can't be, CAN'T BE true.
(I'd ping the most obnoxious one but she'd accuse me of stalking her)
Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
These Texas officials look much more concerned than obola or his buddy Frieden ever did.
unnamed healthcare worker was not a part of the original high risk pool identified after Thomas Eric Duncan's diagnosis in September and was, in fact, wearing protective gloves and mask while treating Duncan.
Smells like it was someone who came in contact with Duncan on the first hospital visit where he was examined for four hours. No telling how many germs he spread around the hospital then. Those doctors and nurses should definitely have been on the high risk list. With Louise's tribe still in the clear, this is showing some proof those from West Africa have some sort of immunity and that when it does break out here where no one has immunities, it's not going to be pretty.
No kidding...and the libs thought Katrina was bad.
Thanks Pen. No need to look at email. Simply discard.
If this multiplies such as it could, there may be a
situation whereby November elections need to be postponed.
(especially if senate races look bad for dems)
Never let a good crisis go to waste.
Not to be racist, but is the nurse black? If so, this may indicate blacks are more susceptible to infection by the Ebola virus than others.
You could very well be right.
See the Conservative Treehouse, too, for this comment. I can’t find the story link:
“txconservativemomof2 says:
October 12, 2014
Heres a clue from another AP article this morning:
On Sept. 28, an ambulance carrying Duncan pulled into the hospitals emergency bay. It was just after 10 a.m. By evening, Duncan was suffering from explosive diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea and projectile vomiting. Shortly before noon on Monday, Sept. 29, Duncan asked the nurse to put him in a diaper, because he feels too tired to keep getting up to the bedside commode. His fever spiked again to 103, and Duncan was wracked with chills.
AND THIS:
Finally, at 2 p.m. on Sept. 30, doctors received the confirmation that all had been dreading: Patient has tested positive for Ebola The staff attending to Duncan traded their gowns and scrubs for hazmat suits and attendants would scrub the room with bleach.
So, for TWO FULL DAYS those treating him were NOT wearing total protection hazmat suits. WHY?????? This case is the just the first were going to see.”
BREAKING: FReeper Onona's wife on NJ flight from Brussels with Vomiting Passenger removed by CDC
Got the wife home now. As you may have assumed, the situation was a true cluster eff.Plane full of Liberians, many unaccompanied minors. Basically, they are fleeing their country to get here, sick OR well.
She was sitting about 6 rows in front of the guy, and the smell was quite evident from the sick.
CDC; Customs; they had NO PLAN.
Customs just kept telling everyone that directions were coming directly from the White House (now don't that make you all warm and fuzzy ?)
People had already gotten through customs when the started a panic announcement to all Customs agents NOT to process anyone from this flight.
The patient is still not cleared as free from Ebola.
They took names and numbers, and sent all the other passengers on their way.
Again, thanks for all your kind thoughts and prayers. I guess time will tell now !
There is no way anyone from the infected countries in West Africa should be allowed to travel, period.
