No, Dixie Carter.
Yea she was
... minus the comedy ...
OMG....yes.....I KNEW this!! Thanks!!
SNL curse: Belushi / Gilda Radner / Danitra Vance / Michael O’Donoghue / Chris Farley / Phil Hartman / Jan Hooks and Andy Kaufman, although never officially a cast member, he seems to get credit for being one.
Really funny woman. She was hilarious as Jiminy Glick’s (Martin Short) wife.
For a show that’s been on 39 years with scores of players, you’re gonna have some that aren’t around, that’s not a curse. Don Pardo passed, too (the famous SNL announcer).
I used to like watching SNL when they produced their own ‘commercials spoofs’. Funny stuff.
Those and Toonces the cat.
Talented lady. RIP.
Did she insult Obama too?
Loved it. But Phil Hartman is the bEST!
re: Really sorry to learn this. I had always hoped that she and Nora Dunn would come back to SNL and do a Sweeney Sisters skit. Way too young. Ill miss your comedy, Jan.
They were great together.
Very sad to hear this. She was quite talented and didn’t seem as full of herself as many on that SNL crew. RIP.
“Whomever. Havent watched SNL since around 1978.”
Interesting. I don’t recall the exact date I stopped watching. At some point they just weren’t funny anymore. I suspect it was because there was a Republican president at the time. I couldn’t stand the obvious left tilt. I gave up satellite radio as the only thing I wanted was the three comedy channels for long drives and it was a monotonous pile-on Republicans. I couldn’t believe that people laughed at the “jokes.” I eventually gave up all television and threw it away during the OJ trial. The “news” had turned into some bizarre tabloid and covered nothing important, just trash.
I sympathize with the people who responded to this thread with “who?” At least one, possibly two generations of “stars” have gone by and I don’t know their names or why they’re famous. Periodically, they make the news by saying something anti-republican and I skip to the next thread.
LOL! I could copy and paste that 10 times a day.
That’s steroids. All puffy.
YES! TBS had a show with Bill Tush as the host. His news send ups in the early days of the “Super Station” were a riot. Gailard Sartan was also a cast member.
