Cleaning out the shed and I found some really old bottles of bleach (6-8 years old!). I tried it on the laundry and it seems to work just fine.

BUT - I have read where it loses it’s strength after only 6 months or so, and should not be trusted for disinfecting things.

I am puzzled about this also. Have seen references to loss of potency after little as two months. Is it possible some properties degrade but not others (i.e. disinfection vs color bleaching)? Need a chemist.
