In practice, the only two principles(?) I have seen him defend are (a) once a person is elected to government office, they can do no wrong, and (b) the law is always right.

Is that how he felt during the Bush years? Were laws against "gay marriage" always right? Sheesh.

He says he voted for Bush, and Bush was elected. Therefore, whatever Bush did during those years was right.

His position on this generic topic makes me very glad he no longer serves in the military.
