anywhere there is bad water flow and dirty areas really pushes ebola forward......but i think its bad enough if it decides to mutate but dirt helps it.

3 week incubation period will just about make it very difficult to maintain, easier for it to hide and spread.

This is the game changer. First world; did all WHO precautions; etc. Sometime today will Spain’s govt do what the derelict of duty WONT DO and close their borders?

Problem with Spain is, the borders are porous and crossable, no way to maintain it, and being EU, forget it.....The EU is understandably very very worried and demanding info from Spain. Too late....The EU is like a big boiling pot of broth, it will get everywhere.

Fearless leader will stop all flights in now. After all, Europe is full of white people.

too late....what they should have done in both the US and Spanish cases was never allow the diseased Ebola patients into the country.....Harsh but necessary, its akin to putting Dracula in the blood bank ready to ravage...highly stupid.

Yes, I’m reading comments from Spain and they sound like an echo of ours a week ago. People will be demanding of their governments and I’m curious to see what measures they’ll take.

I agree w/your assessment of the problem w/European borders...but both symbolically and practically, shutting down flights from WAfrica could stem the tide. Doing something is better than doing nothing (at least in terms of citizenry panic).

First world; did all WHO precautions; etc.

In theory the nurse did all the precautions, in reality we have no idea. My test case is Youngor Jallah, the step-daughter. She took precautions too, the difference is she had no mask for protection. If she stays healthy, that will be good news. She is day 9, today or tomorrow will be the day she gets symptoms (that's how long Duncan took).

Not just West African flights need to be shut down, but also West Africans on flights out of the region.

Tough but necessary.

I think Spain’s government will be responsive, unlike ours.

Ebola should tell us whether our leaders have the ability to turn this ship around. Ebola is not political in that it is deadly regardless of party affiliation. If our leaders cannot push back against the Obama administration for a crisis this significant, we are doomed to accept whatever Obama et al want to inflict in the next two years. I have been stunned at how little push back there has been thus far, so am not encouraged much will change.
