My Dad worked for 45 years for one *private* company.That company saw it's ground breaking technology eclipsed by the "digital revolution",a revolution which has benefited many and hurt more than a few.As a result the company went bankrupt some time after he retired.As a result part of his pension disappeared...the Federal pension security agency would only cover part of it.
If it can happen to my hard working Dad it can happen to those lazy,good for nothing "public servants" you see sitting on their a$$es whenever you visit a government office.
