I hadn’t thought about this angle until I heard Rush recently ranting about some author who’d written that because Liberia was founded by former slaves who returned to Africa, it was our unfortunate institution of slavery that is directly responsible for Ebola in the western nations of Africa.

How do people get away with such perversions of fact?

The virus is known as Ebola Zaire for a reason (that's where it came from along the Ebola River in what is now known as the Congo (again)--not Liberia.)

This outbreak started in Guinea, not Liberia, so they are wrong on even that point.

I guess facts just can't stand in the way of the Agenda, just like AGW.

You know for many years- deacades in fact- I lived believing that “everyone “ knew what I did. That is NOT to say I was one bit smarter than the next person but that we Americans all had basic facts in our mental database. I have learned late that I was utterly wrong.

By the way- thank you so much for the conscientious work you’re doing on this thread. I have followed it with interest.
