Paul Revere and the Raiders used to be my favorite band, back around 1965. They were regulars on “Where the Action is” and used to play for dances at our hometown roller rink. Their version of “Louie, Louie” is a good one.

Paul Revere - 76. What are the chances of that happening?

A bit too obscure and before my time. I’ve heard of Paul Revere & the Raiders, though, if not any of their songs.

Never heard of Paul Revere? He rode a horse warning people that the British are coming...
Wait...wrong Paul Revere. He sang 'Liz Warren Nation' (also known as Cherokee Nation)

“Kicks” was always my favorite - loved that opening riff and the lyrics.

And that’s the problem with music today. Way too many people have never heard of the true music stars.

Well, the Midnight Ride took place in 1775.

Actually Mark Lindsay sang most of their songs. Indian Reservation was supposed to be his solo track. The band shortened their name to just Raiders and it became their only number one hit.
Listen to Just Like Me, Hungry, Kicks, and their other hits. Fun, exuberant rock and roll. For the period they were as rockin’ as it got. I think recording the anti drug Kicks may have hurt their cred with the hipsters.
RIP Paul.

Me and sis went to see them at the Hippodrome Theater in Cleveland.
I actually had one of those three cornered hats they wore.
Oh my.
