The problem is, to establish a causal link, one needs to prove the counterfactual, i.e. that if there were not anthropogenic climate change, then the event would not have happened.

But, the event happened. They have no data from the counterfactual case.

Even if the earth was warming (and I do not doubt that is possible, only that man has anything to do with it) but even if true, the time span before it would effect life as we know it is in centuries not years or even decades.

Global warming is a fraud. It is a way for socialist to take control of our life and to take away our freedoms.

The whole climate change cult is based on devotion to a single theory that increased CO2 in the atmosphere, mostly caused by humans, will increase global temperatures. While CO2 levels have indeed risen there is NO global warming and in fact global temperatures have not increased in nearly two decades and are trending downward. The theory has failed scientifically because none of the computer models associating increased CO2 with global warming have remotely fit the actual data. However the climate change cultists keep clinging to the theory and are using sophistry to explain why their predictions do not fit the data including attributing the lack of global warming to an unexplained "pause" in what they believe to be an inevitable increase in global temperatures.

While the increased CO2 means increased temperatures theory has been conclusively proved wrong it cannot be abandoned because it has become the vehicle for increased government control if not world governance by the UN. Climate change has nothing to do with science and everything to do with radical politics. Look at the participants in the recent climate change march...the usual collection of communists, socialists and far left radicals. Despite the lack of any scientific evidence that the global warming theory is remotely true, a climate change Inquisition has used political pressure and intimidation to quell the inescapable scientific conclusion that the global warming theory is flat out wrong.
