I am surprised it is only 63%. I’d expect dirty needle users would make up at most 10%. I presumed our blood supplies are no longer tainted (hopefully - but with ‘PC’ being the god of these times - who knows). What makes up the 37%? ... Guess I should scan the article.

My guess would be that the bulk of the remainder is prostitutes and people who have frequent sex with multiple partners.

Most of the other 37% is from drug use and gays that are bisexual. HIV/AIDs starts with anal sex, period! I would bet even a majority of the drug use comes from using a dirty needle from someone engaged in gay anal sex.

It doesn't specify but I'm sure a large number of these are women who have sex with men who are having sex with other men.

I recently looked at the CDC or NIH websites during the Michael $cam ob$e$$ion, and the info I remember was

50,000 new infections annually (the latest year)

40,000 M2M sex

My math tells me that is 80%

Also, a disproportionate % of was males in the 18-20s or so demographics.

So the youngest, the most gullible and vulnerable, make up a high % of cases. Even with the drugs regimen, their systems will take a beating, diminished to fight related or other diseases later in life, at considerable costs all the way around.

Our blood supply is safe from those who were stationed in Europe 1980-1990. I was in Germany 1981-83 & the Red Cross still tells me to get lost, I may be carrying Mad Cow disease.
