Striking factory workers in France have threatened to blow up their place of employment in the latest round of hostile industrial action stalling President Francois Hollandes economic reforms.
Employees at the Electrolux vacuum cleaner factory near the Belgian border in Revin lit a trail of wooden pallets on Tuesday that was intended to act as a fuse leading to a propane gas tank near the main building of the factory.
The stunt, which drew French police and fire crews to the scene, was the latest in a wave of strike action that has threatened to derail President Hollandes government.
It came just days before Manuel Valls, Frances prime minister, was to travel to London in an attempt to convince British business that the countrys economy is on the road to recovery. He is due to arrive in the City next week.
The Electrolux strike followed a 14-day walk-out by Air France pilots that cost 280-million and severely damaged claims that the Socialist government which owns 16% of the airline can stand up to professions clinging to historic privileges.

"Electrolux sucks!"
Electrolux was in the news last month for buying GE Appliance.
That’s smart. Blow up your own job, Bet I’m not the first one to think of this.
That threat is familiar......my son said he would hold his breath until he got some Oreos.
The frogs invented sabotage, throwing wooden shoes (sabots) into the machinery.
The way Electrolux has been going, the company will probably be more profitable if they blow up the factory and collect the insurance proceeds.
