My guess is the professionals (CDC, health care) will keep it contained, but when there are fatalities even the densest most liberal Malthusians will quickly turn into border hawks.

Really??? They have not so far. We still allow flights out of Western Africa Ebola States like Sierra Leone and Liberia that are collapsing. Moreover, our borders are WIDE OPEN.
When these Ebola patient was admitted to the hospital it was not even set up for a Level 4 Ebola patient.
All these people that think it’s good to not let a good crisis go to waste. Their own loved ones may be affected and it probably will hurt them economically too if this stuff is airborne.
