God Save Us from the Loud 'I'm Staying Home This Year' Conservatives

By Jim Geraghty

A few thoughts from the middle of the day . . .

God save us from self-professed "conservatives" who will announce they'll stay home on Election Day as a demonstration of their power.

Because as we all know, you become more influential in politics and government and public life by staying home and doing less.

....

Does the "I'm staying home" crowd apply this to everything in life? "I don't like the way the company is run, so I'm not going to work."

"Honey, I'm just not happy with your performance as a spouse, so I'm going to be less active in the marriage until you improve."

"Kids, I'm disappointed with your performance in school. Until you improve, I'm ignoring you."

The thing is, I wonder how often the "I'm staying home this year" crowd voted before. In fact, I wonder if they ever vote.

I don't understand the "I've never been more fearful for the future of this country, but I'm not willing to do anything about it" mentality.

Ronald Reagan is not walking through that door, folks.

He was a venture capitalist who was socially liberal.

Including his ownership of Stericycle, during which he made at least $75 million dollars disposing of the broken bodies of aborted babies.

Incorrect, the statement was to crush the tea party.

This poor chap doesn’t understand - we’ll vote. We’ll show up and vote for the rest of the ballot. We will just not vote for anyone the GOPe puts up that is a crypto-liberal.

So, we’ll definitely vote - just won’t vote for anyone that risks hanging the further destruction of the country on actual conservatives.

Your apparent thinking would have labeled Ronald Reagan a party sycophant.

Hopefully that fact will help you reconsider your position.

I now abandon this thread, folks.

Bye.

That’s not crony capitalism. You may not like the business. Neither do I, if it is true that he ben knew about it, but it is not crony capitalism.

I didn’t say it was crony capitalism.

In fact, it’s something far worse, actually.

Why don.t you Cruz ‘fans’ call his office and see if he supports your plan to keep the Senate in Harry Reid.s hands?

First of all, I'm not a real big proponent of lying, you know, that whole Ten Commandment thingee.

Secondly, I'm more a proponent of the approaches taken by Reagan and Alexander Hamilton:

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

I think the reason the establishment GOP doesn’t hammer the IRS is because they were denying Tea Party groups their tax exempt status and the GOPe wants to also destroy these grassroots groups.

How do I know? THEY TOLD US!

Absolutely correct — that's one thing these you have to vote Republican!-people can't explain: why should I vote for someone who is out to destroy me?
Their refusal to touch things like the IRS or NSA, even though these are clearly winning issues, indicates to me just how much they want those structures.

Thanks for the kudos and thanks for the thread   d:^)

The RINO vociferousness makes ya wonder if maybe the ol' GOPe kneepads are startin' to wear kinda thin ? !

I'd see the whole thing crash rather than EVER pulling the lever for another McCain or Romney quisling again.

Better to line up sides and get on with the real fight.

“As Norm Lenhart stated earlier, those in goose-step formation with the Ruling Class leadership are the problem, the enemy.”

They want and get a thrill from being dominated. It’s almost sexual by the look of it. No one with a lick of sense is willing to publically humiliate themselves for simple politics like this.

All we need is a picture of Rove in bondage gear and a whip telling them they are ‘bad Republicans’ and suddenly it all makes sense. That might even shut them up for a while.

do you not understand?

if these folks quietly go and vote with their secret ballot and refuse to say for whom they voted .... they get ZERO attention.

if they proceed as is, they feel important.

I second each and every word of your #594 AND add:

Myth Romney is a sleaze bag because:

He is a gun grabber;

He is a front man for the worst elements of the Wall Street/K Street crowd;

His daddy was George Romney and his mother was Lenore Romney, both prominent Demonrats in GOP drag and quite pro-abortion. George Romney, as Nixon's HUD Secretary, proposed forcing urban blacks into surrounding suburbs with federal money. That appears to be the reason why Nixon insisted on George Romney's resignation a few days later and obtained it;

He promised to be more pro-abort than Ted Kennedy;

He seeks to be commander in chief without ever personally serving in the military and without any man in his ancestral lineage or progeny EVER having served in the military and, during wars, he and his male relatives of draft age are always regretting that they cannot be available due to "missionary work which usually lasts to the end of any given war.

He is certainly a liberal or worse but he uses the GOP, merely as a political whorehouse.

He is certainly a crony socialist and servant of the US Chamber of Crony Socialism and he is willing to tax thee and me and everyone not in his class to transfer the cash to his cronies.

For neocon1984 to get his head out of his butt, he needs to stop being a liberal or worse AND avoid members of Proctologists for Myth who specialize in cranial anal insertion procedures and be treated by a normal proctologist who is adept at cranial extrusion from the anal region surgeries.

Myth might want to see a cranial extrusion from the anal region proctologist as well.

Well, that battle hasn.t ended. We haven.t retaken the Senate. Yet.

You obviously have ZERO comprehension of the quotes SoCon posted.

You would shame others into voting for an enemy to be head of a party that is supposed to represent the interests of liberty and limited government. You would have us be 'RESPONSIBLE' for actually voting for an ENEMY who avowed to 'crush' us to be our leader.

I laugh at the absolute imbecility being displayed by people like you who once again, assert that our national salvation and return to liberty will be by voting for Liberal Ruling Class Statists because of the letter after their name.

The GOP had the House, the Senate AND the presidency, not 10 years ago - and they expanded government, diminished liberty and outspent every single Administration in history up until 2009.

There is no battle to be had because the enemy has taken over your party and have told us they intend to surrender their power to the MarxoFascists once they take the reins.

Still you idiots try to shame the Principled into abandoning their values in order to lick the palms of your plantation masters or get blamed for every nasty thing that occurs.

If voting made any difference they wouldn't let us do it."

Mark Twain -

please post that on every campus and leftist community bulletin board. Keep it out of the gun clubs, Baptist churches, etc.
