Russia is starting to use the same line on Baltic countries that it used to invade Ukraine

A senior Russian Foreign Ministry official says that Moscow has a responsibility to protect ethnic Russian citizens of other countries, "regardless of where they live," and that "we will do everything possible to defend the rights and interests" of ethnic Russian minorities in the neighboring Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

The comments came from Anatoly Makarov, the director of the Foreign Ministry's Department for Interaction with Compatriots Abroad. He was speaking to the Russian outlet RuBaltic, as translated by Paul Goble. "We are carrying out a line so that Russian compatriots regardless of where they live are guaranteed all rights and freedoms ... and have the opportunity to preserve the culture and traditions of their historical Motherland," Makarov said, explicitly extending this to the million-plus ethnic Russians who are citizens of Baltic countries.

Europes problem.

After Europe is gobbled up, it then becomes our problem, and at that point we'd be screwed.

Sounds just like Hitler and the Sudetenland.

“After Europe is gobbled up, it then becomes our problem, and at that point we’d be screwed.”

Still not our problem. After they finish gobbling Europe up, they will then be distracted by the muslim problem. Not being constrained by PC, they will effectively deal with it doing the entire world a huge favor.

Estonia et al. are all NATO members by the way. Maybe you are ignorant of this.

After they finish gobbling Europe up, they will then be distracted by the muslim problem. Not being constrained by PC, they will effectively deal with it doing the entire world a huge favor.

You are apparently unaware that the Islamic problem is largely the creation of Russia. The KGB decided to reshape Islam's general antipathy to the world into an anti-American ideology. Hence Arafat was trained and used by the KGB, the PLO and other liberation terrorist organizations were created by the KGB, and on and on and on.

It is not really new. Russia has been making these kinds of threats and subversive actions for years. Their recent invasion of Ukraine is what makes them pass western news threshold now.

Russian invasion of Georgia in 2008 should have been the wake-up call. Some things did happen, but then came this stupid “reset button”.

The West and all its structures are far too subverted by Russian agents of influence to focus their gaze for any length of time on the threat of Russkie aggression, unfortunately. Even Ukraine is being forgotten by the media. Haven’t heard any substantial reporting or discussion on it on any of the media channels, except for maybe some tsk tsk comments on Fox on how incompetent the President is, but that’s not exactly an expose’ on Russia.
