The sister of the first Ebola patient diagnosed in the United States says he told relatives he notified officials the first time he went to the hospital that he was visiting from Liberia.
Mai Wureh says her brother, Thomas Eric Duncan, went to a Dallas emergency room on Friday and they sent him home with antibiotics.

In a news conference early Wednesday afternoon, Dallas ISD superintendent Mike Miles revealed that five children from four district schools were possibly exposed to the virus.
Miles identified the schools as:
Conrad High School Tasby Middle School Hotchkiss Elementary School Dan D. Rogers Elementary
The patient who was diagnosed with the Ebola virus was staying at a northeast Dallas apartment complex, according to a Dallas police spokesman.
Lt. Joel Lavender confirmed the patient was transported from the Ivy Apartments to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas on September 28.

Am not a betting person but if happens could understand why.
The CDC is very aware of political correctness...
Mine shows improvement in his logic every day. I think in a few years he will be sick of liberals. He may not ever tell me that I was right all along, but his words continue to come around. He’s in the middle of a bunch of crazies (read San Francisco) so I’m not surprised at his views from the last few years. He’s surrounded out there. Funny thing is, when he comes home, he relaxes and enjoys his time with us. We live in the country now. We only have a few acres, but it’s beautiful. It’s an instant stress reliever to look out our windows.

They always gave been, from the very get go.
On another thread, they were saying that he only had contact with 12-18 people.
B.... S.
When he went to the hospital on the 27th, there is no darn way that there were only a handful of people in the waiting room. And what about the staff? You’re going to come in contact with registration, the triage nurse, an ER nurse, a doctor, and a cleaner... minimum.
That’s 5 individuals right there. Plus the people in the waiting room. And if he used the bathroom or drinking fountain, there are hours more to expose people even after he left. (moist environment)
Plus the five kids. Their families.
There is NO WAY that he only had contact with 12-18 human beings.
Maybe the Africans will bring some order to the AMERICAN blacks. The Africans are (or were) rooted in families...not "welfare" families.
OR, am I simply being a "Pollyanna" about it?
No. You are not. African blacks perform almost as well as Jews and do not identify with modern black America. They have a shocking number of college graduates (in professional fields), intact families and "tiger" moms.
Statistically, African blacks are an asset to this country.
I have no doubt that this man informed the hospital staff of his situation and that they rolled their eyes, dismissed him, and assumed that he was being paranoid. (It's happened to me too many times.)
Christmas is almost three months away, do you really think it will take that long?
Well, of course, there is nothing to worry about and anyone who gets sick can keep his doctor and his insurance policy if he wants to and he can get treatment for 2800 per cent less than he could have when that racist Bush was in office and he can have his own pink Unicorn too.
the schools (Conrad High, Tasby Middle, Hotchkiss Elem, Rogers Elem)are 2 miles or less from the Ivy Apartments on Fair Oaks Ave.
Did the 5 kids live in the apartment complex?

On another thread, an article claims his nephew had to call CDC and ask why his uncle wasn’t getting proper care, when it was likely he had ebola.
Guess is yes but am not certain.

Bring Out Your Dead
Were gonna need
a bigger cart!
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
