“The ironic thing is that this will limit illegal immigration.”

Never gonna happen. You have the entire GOP establishment as committed to mass immigration as the Democratic party ruling class.

“The ill person did not exhibit symptoms of Ebola during the flights from West Africa and CDC does not recommend that people on the same commercial airline flights undergo monitoring, as Ebola is only contagious if the person is experiencing active symptoms,” the agency said in a statement Tuesday.

Oh no, the CDC does not plan to release any information about the patient’s flights to Brussels, Dulles and DFW

“Don’t worry you travelers, he wasn’t contagious until he showed “active symptoms” - 4 days later when he was bad enough to go to hospital”

I would bet if the CDC had family on those flights they are in quarantine and being monitored

what about all the other people exposed when this guy was given antibiotics and released for 4 days to be a walking typhoid mary?

we are being lied to by Baghdad Bob at the CDC, it is having the opposite effect of what they are trying to do

The incubation period is around 20 days.

I've seen that written as "as long as 21 days." Three weeks. But apparently some people might manifest symptoms in less time.

Nothing will change until there is rioting in the streets.

Apartment in Dallas? Does it have a swimming pool and is it still warm enough to swim now in Texas?

Obviously this warrants more of your time and research than it does mine. My focus is on one thing: It spread to a family member and that makes sense. There is not only the intimate contact but a LOT of it. Both matter.

The real miracle here is that the whole family doesn’t have it.

And by “scrub”, I meant they wash their hands. Sheesh. Lighten up.

Who reported a second case?

My post said a possible 2nd case.

Here's the head-line to the USA Today article:

Officials: Second person being monitored for Ebola

My daughter spent 71 days in the NICU.

Many doctors and nurses did not wash their hands every time. This was in a NICU.

At the ER, I have seen a nurse go from patient to patient without even using sanitizer.

Yes...and I think Greta (based on a report) is claiming that this possible case is no longer suspected as Ebola.

I did a quick Google search on that list and the first three seem to indicate increased bleeding, either by blocking clotting agents in the blood or some other method, it’s advised not to take them with blood thinners, ibuprofen or aspirin. I’m not so sure I’d want the three of them in my system when the big “bleed out” virus hits. There’s certainly no proof that their preventative/immune boosting qualities would be strong enough to risk the blood thinning ones.

Your description of “scrub” and ER activity exactly tracks what I witnessed on 2 ER visits when I took a patient with ebola like symptoms for emergency treatment.

Like you said, casual, no alarm

Patient Zero’s whereabouts are (at this point) unknown for up to six days after he arrived in the U.S. I’m guessing the guy did what most people do when they come down with a virus—first you try to tough it out, then after seeing the doctor, you take the meds and go about your daily business.

I’m guessing the Liberian community knows more than the media about this guy’s activities during those periods, and that’s why they’re worried. The number of people that might have been exposed by Patient Zero may number in the dozens and it grows geometrically from there.

The sad part is, this outbreak could have been easily prevented. When the epidemic unfolded in West Africa, passenger air traffic to/from the area should have been halted. Patient Zero would have been unable to travel there in the first place.

Lest we forget, there was a Liberan-American man from Minneapolis who was just days from returning stateside when he came down with Ebola and died. If his exposure had occurred a week or so later, he might have brought the virus back to this country, and triggered an outbreak in Minnesota.

This is going to get scary in very short order.

I so understand why GOD flooded the earth and killed all but eight humans. When civilization becomes overpopulated by a bunch of crazy animals after their own pleasure and comfort then an equilibrium must happen.

In ER We use alcohol-based hand sanitizers

Unless....

islamic nurses refuse to use alcohol based sanitizers.

Is that policy?

There is a reason I avoid hospitals at all costs. There is a reason for that. ;-)
